Baking steel

Baking steel produces a crust like no other, it will not break or crack and will last a lifetime, on top of that, it is easy to move, clean, and use.  It is perfect for anyone who loves pizza, bread, but it could be challenging to get a good bread rise in a home oven.  Baking steels is available in tiles to fit your oven size, two tiles(60cm) for a small oven or 3 for a (90cm) oven.  

Steel conducts allot more heat than stainless steel or stone. The end result, a crispier bake, faster bake, better bread rice, perfect for that "oh so wanted oven spring on a sourdough bread.

All our plates have been cleaned and pre-seasoned and are ready to use.

The smaller tiles maximize your oven space and are much lighter and easier to pack away. We also have an additional handy kiaat stand available that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also convenient for storage. 

Baking Steel Plates – 20.cm x 36.5cmx 6mm (size per plate) | includes 2 or 3 plates depending on your oven size selection

• Small 60cm oven, you will need 2 plates making a total baking area of 40cm x 36.5cm. This is suited to 2 – 3 loaves or 1 large pizza.
• Large 90cm oven (or you will need 3 plates making a total baking area of 60cm x 36.5cm. This is suited to 3 – 4 loaves or 1-2 pizzas.
• Weber or outside braai- 2-3 plates.
